Barry and Donna’s not-quite-stock 1980 Spitfire is one of the nicest examples of the type you will ever see. On the outside, the back-dated chrome bumpers and trim, subtle pinstriping, wire-look mag wheels and gleaming dark green paint set the car apart from others of its kind. Inside, the addition of map pockets and TR-7 style courtesy lights add to comfort and convenience.The car won a Gold Certificate in the concours in the Modified Class and Barry took First Place in the Autocross (Modified Spitfire) Class at this year’s Vintage Triumph Register National Convention at Ft. Worth. At the VTR South Central Region meet earlier in the year at Georgetown, the green machine with license plate “R SPIT” took First Place in the Modified Class in concours, and Barry drove to a Second Place finish in the Autocross Modified Class.
Barry and Donna relocated late this year to the Phoenix area; they’ll be missed by their Houston-area TTR friends.
